UPDATE 1-Alcan in $130 mln deal with Areva for power unit

(Reuters) - Alcan, which is currently the target of an unsolicited
takeover attempt by U.S. aluminum producer Alcoa ,
unveiled plans for the AP50 project last December.




Construction on the $550 million plant is expected to begin
early next year, Alcan said.
